The energy efficient Moss Street Campus Childcare Center is a new building located on the east edge of the University of Oregon Campus. After SOLARC/ESBL involvement, the floor plan was revised to allow shut-down of one wing during the under-occupied summer term.
Ground-coupled water-to-water heat pump provides heating water to radiant floor slab. Minimum ventilation system brings in outside air that is pre-heated with the heat extracted from stale outgoing air through an air-to-air heat exchanger.
Ceiling fans move air for occupant comfort. Ground-coupled water-to-water heat pump creates cool water to circulate through the floor slab for radiant floor cooling. Minimum air ventilation system introduces outside air that is pre-cooled by the energy-recovery heat exchanger.
