$335,000
$52,400

From the beginning of the project and during design development, three primary goals were identified: 1) Develop optimal retrofit strategies to maximize energy savings, 2) Install high quality components while controlling first cost, and 3) Improve lighting quality throughout all facilities. These efficiency measures resulted in major improvements at multiple levels: 1) Light levels in these spaces increased 50 percent, while the load decreased by 45 percent, 2) Improvements in lighting quality is evident in nearly all spaces, 3) Color rendering and space appearances have improved greatly, when compared to the illumination provided by the baseline lamps, 4) Magnetic ballast noise has been eliminated. Classrooms are quieter, and speakers at assemblies in the multi-purpose spaces no longer compete with noisy ballasts.
